Margaret River Western Australia

Hey,

In October I did a long weekend trip to Sout-West of the WA to Margaret River to celebrate my birthday. Margaret River is cute town and area located about 4 hours drive from Perth so we packed everything to the car and hit the road. I had heard so many people complimenting the region but I didn’t have a clue how amazing it would be.

Margaret River is famous for its beaches, local produce like vegetables, wine, chocolate and cheese so we were surely on the good stuff. The plan was to enjoy the weekend while surfing, rock climbing and good times together and this is exactly what we got.

Beaches

As I’ve mentioned before it’s said that beaches in Western Australia are prettiest in the country and during the first walk to the beach I was sure I’m dreaming! There are so many nice location to choose from and you should check out Prevelly and Gnarabup among the other.

The sunsets here are amazing and it’s popular to head to Surfers Point to enjoy the last light of the day and see really talented surfers.

What to do in Margaret River

Apart from the beach life you can tour around the wineries and local factories. I would recommend Margaret River Chocolate, Gabriel Chocolate and Margaret River Dairy for enjoying the local food. There are so many wine producers around this beautiful region that don’t hesitate to stop any you pass on the roads. One of my favourites was House of Cards.

To make the most out of the beautiful region you have an endless choise of outdoor acitivies and we spent Sunday afternoon horse back riding in the national park. Such a good experience!

We spent time rock climbing outdoors on both days on the cliffs on the coast and really enjoyed a little hike and crazy good views. We even saw whales further out on the ocean!
